About

I am a BSN student in my final semester, preparing to transition into a nurse residency program with a focus on critical care and adult health nursing. My short-term goal is to build confidence and competence as a new graduate nurse, while my long-term goal is to grow into a critical care nurse who provides safe, skilled care in high-acuity settings. I am guided by empathy, integrity, and a commitment to excellence, and I aim to advocate for patients and support them and their families during some of their most vulnerable moments. In practice, I strive to contribute to safe, patient-centered care and uphold professionalism in every clinical setting. My nursing philosophy is grounded in the belief that every patient deserves respectful, individualized care. I value cultural sensitivity, dignity, and emotional support as essential parts of the healing process, not just medical treatment. I see advocacy as a key responsibility of nursing which includes ensuring patients are heard, informed, and supported in their decisions. My goal is to create trust and comfort in the nurse-patient relationship while providing care that meets both physical and emotional needs. Throughout my nursing program, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and remained committed to both academic and professional development. As part of the Honors program, I am completing a research project titled Nursing Knowledge & Educational Needs Assessment: Malignant Hyperthermia & Local Anesthetic Systemic Toxicity, which surveys registered nurses in Virginia and Texas. This project has strengthened my awareness of rare but critical clinical emergencies and highlighted the importance of ongoing education in nursing practice. I value lifelong learning as an essential part of nursing and plan to continue building my knowledge and clinical skills as I transition into practice. My goal is to grow into a knowledgeable, compassionate nurse who delivers safe, evidence-based care while continuously seeking opportunities for growth and improvement.
