I’m an Area Sales Engineer at Thorlux Lighting, covering Hampshire and Dorset, working with some of the region’s most interesting organisations to design and deliver smarter, more sustainable lighting solutions. Over the past 18 months I’ve built strong relationships across the NHS and higher education sector, helping clients move away from outdated systems and towards intelligent lighting that actually works harder for them. Reducing energy consumption, cutting carbon output, simplifying emergency lighting compliance, and improving the environments people work and learn in every day. One of the things I’m most passionate about is introducing clients to SmartScan, Thorlux’s exclusive, award-winning wireless lighting management system. SmartScan monitors energy usage in real time, reporting in kWh, cost and CO2 values so organisations can measure and evidence their carbon reduction progress. It also automates emergency lighting testing and record keeping, keeping buildings legally compliant without the manual burden on facilities teams. I’ve had the privilege of working on some genuinely exciting projects, including schemes with leading charities and emergency services organisations across the South. A typical week involves client presentations, site surveys, lighting designs, and project quotations, with a particular focus on introducing SmartScan, Thorlux’s exclusive award-winning wireless lighting management system, to clients looking to reduce energy costs, cut carbon emissions, and automate emergency lighting compliance.
