Due to promotions out of the department, and continued business growth, MidwayUSA split role into 2 teams. In my current role, I am responsible for systems and teams related to product.
Responsible for design, development, and improvement of Midway's Application Platform, managing 6 teams and managers. (Logistics, Customer Service, Marketing, Merchandising, Support, and System Services) Assist senior leaders with strategic planning, capacity planning, forecasting, budgeting and integration with other departments. Changes: 2017: More detailed time tracking for strategic plan and support/enhancements, 2018: In-house system alerting/monitoring(lowered call out numbers from 750 a month to 140), new department measures that align with business desires, CIS security controls and scorecard, project based teams, SonarQube/App dynamics alerting instead of monitoring, mid-project updates down to team level instead of entire project, useful system speed metrics, code quality initiative with metrics, revamp Technical training(Knowledge management, directed technical, self-directed technical), Code review metrics, Code coverage metrics, Deployment pipeline metrics. 2019: Strategic Planning for architecture, service staging capabilities, specialized team member roles, leadership book club, DevSecOps in CI/CD pipeline, OWASP dependency checker, move to Azure DevOps. 2020: CyberSecurity initiatives, CI/CD, continue DevOps roadmap. Systems handled unprecedented sales growth gracefully. Project fishing pole(just ask) 2021: New $100 million Distribution Center. Project Manager for technical integrations with our in-house WMS(Warehouse Management Solution) and transition plan. 3rd parties include: BoxWorks Opex PerfectPick Opex SureSort PackSize Stanley-Vidmar Jungheinrich Rocla 2022: Continue new Distribution Center transition.
