Led the Product Growth Engagement team that was responsible for the systems generating content for LinkedIn email and push notifications. We built one of the most impactful product lines at the company which drives over 30% of LinkedIn traffic via member communications. We used a combination of stream processing, machine learning and Hadoop systems to personalize our communications and determine which members should receive what content. In 2015, we successfully reduced email volume by over 50% and cut member complaints by over 65%, while increasing member engagement. Our email reduction initiatives were cited in media such as the New York Times [1] and Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show [2].
