I've witnessed friends, family, and coworkers struggle with various financial issues. In the past, I've lacked the skills and knowledge to help them. The counseling center is ran by student volunteers that have completed the appropriate courses of Personal and Family Finance as well as Financial Counseling. The OFS provides one-on-one counseling sessions as well as group workshops. Duties: -Managed the financial coaches and insured all members adhered to the guidelines set in the OFS handbook. -Corresponded with clients to schedule one-on-one counseling sessions and workshops. -Marketed the OFS to the campus and community. -Worked with Financial Aid to ensure Federal Student Loan Exit Counseling is completed successfully. -Served on the Dean's Advisory Board.

As an intern in the Lighthouse program, I assisted in preparing documentation so veterans were one step closer to achieving their goal of purchasing a home. Duties: -Assigned consultants to clients based on the client’s state of purchase. -Screened credit reports and prepared Letters of Explanation for clients.This allowed clients to explain their hardships and begin rebuilding credit. -Applied for Certificates of Eligibility on behalf of veterans. Using Veteran Affairs online resources, I submitted information on behalf of the veterans to check eligibility for their VA home loan entitlement. -Submitted Appreciation Desk Requests. When veterans were approved for a VA home loan, we sent a gift that was customized to their family showing our appreciation for both their service and business.
