I'm an experienced Human Resources professional who gets the operational challenges my customers face. I’m a senior human resources and operations leader with experience spanning greenfield mobilisation, brownfield transformation and M&A integration across the mining and resources sector. I combine a legal and HR background with hands-on production leadership to deliver enterprise-level people strategy that is commercially grounded and operationally credible. I have a track record leading large multi-site teams, representing organisations at the Fair Work Commission, and driving capability uplift, organisational design and cultural change through complex restructures and contract transitions.
Developing Leader within the Yarwun Clarification Operations Team, developing skills within key areas of accountability, including: • Execute, or lead the delivery of the plan for area of responsibility in a safe and cost-effective manner. • Deliver results of a moderately complex production operations team including subordinate work leaders. • Apply acquired expertise to analyse and solve problems without clear precedent. • Make decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan. • Receive guidance and oversight from manager. • Coach team members on performance, complete employee performance evaluations, and recommend pay actions. • Plan, organise, and manage the work performed. • Responsible for work unit training, safety compliance and departmental scheduling and productivity. • Manage operations to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact. • Define staffing needs, selection/assessment criteria, and development needs. • Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement. Implement and support Rio Tinto leading practices. • Collaborate closely with other functions in the performance of duties. • Ensures compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Develop and manage progressive and effective Health & Hygiene frameworks, policies and initiatives to support organisational goals. • Manage and maintain the Health & Hygiene policy framework ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance, including development of Health & Hygiene policies and procedures, liaising with the Inspector of Mines and other regulatory bodies. • Contribute to Callide people strategy and preparation, drive engagement and communication, lead execution and deliver outcomes of Health & Hygiene which enables Callide to deliver its objectives. • Manage an effective on-site medical facility, ensuring adequate first aid and treatment resources are available • Embed safety-first culture through all Health initiatives, policy and frameworks • Ensure the safe operation of the Health Team, any assigned contractors, and all related Activities. • Embed and strengthen Health & Hygiene practices by supporting and enabling leaders and aligned leadership teams to manage Health & Hygiene compliance and build capability through coaching, mentoring and developing their team members. • Manage spend, review and input to departmental budget • Deliver improved Health & Hygiene governance and transparency through fit for purpose processes, communication, incident management and return to work. • Develop internal and external Health / medical / legal relationships to reduce Health & Hygiene matters. • Embed sustainable and optimised Health & Hygiene team to enable the business to meet its current and future business needs.
• Completion of the BHP Future Leaders Program, with the intent of developing people with limited mining knowledge but strong leadership skills, or previous mining experience and interested in taking the next step • Driving safety performance through safety leadership, including driving participation in Field Leadership (safety interactions), Mastery verifications (operational and safety performance) and hazard identification, reporting and rectification • Leading a team of 15 single- and multi-skilled operators, including managing safety incidents and investigations, HR matters (including disciplinary and health/injury case management, development planning) • Supervision of truck and shovel fleet, and associated ancillary equipment, including interpretation of technical plans, reporting and pre-start communications • Detailed knowledge of operational requirements under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and the Safety and Health Management System
