While empathy has always been a proud trait of mine, I never realized that being an empathetic person could transform into a career. I graduated from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work with my LMSW in May, 2023. Originally from Long Island, NY, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have a B.S. as I majored in Human Development and Family Studies and have a certificate in Education. I chose this as my major because I am fascinated by human behavior and human interactions. At school, I have taken numerous courses that have further developed my passion for helping the less fortunate. These courses include Human Development and Family Studies, Educational Psychology, Social Work, and Educational Policy. Outside of my studies, I have volunteered for many non-profit organizations and charities as well as interned with The Safe Center, a Domestic abuse treatment center in Bethpage, New York, this past Summer. During this experience, I further developed abilities to provide others with support, compassion, and advice. My goal in life is to assist people in navigating through tough situations, whether they are struggling with mental health problems or just need advice as everyone deserves to feel valued. I would love the opportunity to one day open my own private practice focused on the areas of child development, social work, and human behavior. I am proud of the empathetic, strong-willed, supportive person I have become, and I look forward to gaining more skills along the way.
