Aspiring golf course superintendent with hands-on experience in high-performance turf management across South Africa and international environments. Currently serving as 2nd Assistant Superintendent at St Francis Links, I am actively involved in daily course operations, including turf conditioning, irrigation management, fertiliser programs, machinery operation, and course presentation standards. My experience includes previous roles at Great Northern Golf Course (Denmark), Centurion Club (London), and Silver Lakes Golf & Wildlife Estate, supported by formal training through the African Turf Academy. This background has given me a strong foundation in both cool- and warm-season turf management, with exposure to high-end maintenance standards and tournament-level conditioning. I am passionate about continuous improvement in turf performance, precision irrigation, and sustainable course management. I take pride in being reliable, detail-focused, and committed to delivering consistently high-quality playing surfaces while developing toward a future superintendent role.
Completed professional training in turf management while gaining hands-on experience at Silver Lakes. Focused on course setup, mowing of greens, tees, and fairways, and bunker maintenance, while developing skills in machinery operation and sustainable course care.
During my internship at Great Northern, one of Scandinavia’s top championship golf courses, I contributed to the daily preparation and maintenance of the course to tournament standards. My responsibilities included mowing greens, tees, and fairways, bunker care, aeration, hollow coring, top dressing, and assisting with fertilisation, as well as supporting general course set-up. This role gave me hands-on experience in modern turf management practices and machinery operation, while also strengthening my teamwork and attention to detail. Being part of a highly skilled grounds crew allowed me to understand the standards required to deliver an exceptional playing experience at a world-class golf venue.
