In my career I have been both an engineer and a teacher, and I have enjoyed both. Although they seem like different careers, they share many similarities. As an engineer I have participated in and led teams in order to reach a common goal. I have also prepared and presented technical briefings to colleagues, management and customers. Engineering, as well as teaching, requires excellent oral and written communication skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people. My goal is to resume my career as a full-time engineer or teacher, and utilize my skills and experience that I have developed in both careers.
As an adjunct professor at California Baptist University, and I have taught elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, statistics and biostatistics.
As an adjunct Professor at Norco College I have taught prealgebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, geometry, trigonometry, college algebra, statistics, precalculus and calculus.
At Crossroads Christian High School I taught algebra 2, precalculus, calculus, earth science, and physics.
I worked at Boeing (originally with Rockwell International) for over 26 years as a systems/software engineer on the Space Shuttle program as well as the Future Combat Systems program. During that time, I performed systems analysis, simulation and test, real-time flight support, launch commit criteria analysis, and software requirements analysis.
