Power lead on data centre projects focusing on: - integrating grid compliance requirements into early stage data centre design within UK, Denmark, Finland, Germany etc -protections philosophy, control and interlocking, safety, maintenance and plant replacements strategy -system topology optioneering, such as MV/LV UPS, MV/LV generator, earthing, Peterson coil -equipment sizing, optimisation and specifications using power system simulation tools such as ETAP, DIgSILENT Powerfactory and PSCAD -private owned vs idno substation requirements and impacts -GIS and AIS substation spacing layout, safety clearance, utility requirements etc Involved in renewable projects such as hydrogen, pv, BESS and conventional generators.
Work dynamically as technical support and technical sales with business developments directors for various customers of different industry such as data centre, water treatment, wind/renewable supplier/contractors (e.g. green hydrogen), oil & gas, manufacturing and distribution company, low voltage etc across UK and Europe. - technical presentation, solution positioning and business developments - conferences for power system simulation as well real time power monitoring and operation SCADA (PSMS) - workshop/training on using ETAP software for application on projects - project manage and work on consultancy on power system and traction design (tractive effort, AC/DC rollingstock modelling and train/metro time table simulation) - work closely with developers and produce specifications on new features or enhancements for cable sizing, harmonic, grid compliance studies, FMU/FMI dynamic model, NetPM cloud collaboration tool, protection, arc flash, new elements, traction simulation etc - lead maintenance check and switching sequence developments integration into ETAP - produce workshop training material and provide training for E114 4 days power system analysis, E163 Network Rail 650V Cless I&II signaling design, E152 advance ac & dc arc flash analysis, E212 Grid Code analysis. - familiar with BS7671, IEC 60502, IEC 60092, IEC 60909, IEC 61363, IEC 60287, IEC 61660, G5/5, P28, P29, G99, IEEE 1584 etc
Specialize in various power system studies for systems ranging from LV to 132 kV including loadflow, fault level, harmonics penetration, protection grading, dynamic motor starting, transient stability for medium size generator and arc flash studies. Extensive experience in performing harmonic measurements and analysis on SSE distribution systems. Team member for undertaking structural lightning risk assessment and power system earthing studies for industrial systems. Other experience also includes forensic and condition assessment for paper cable, transformer tap changer and 11kV switchgear. Experienced in power system software packages such as ETAP (Expert), DIgSILENT PowerFactory (Intermediate), IPSA+(Intermediate), ERACS(Intermediate), SKM PTW Captor(Intermediate), PSS SINCAL(Beginner), AMTECH(Beginner), ENMAC(Beginner) and MATLAB(Beginner).
