It's great to have had different wireless technologies to take care of for CAR ACCESS HW and SYSTEMs in my job as a HW electrical engineer and TEAM LEADER for a super HW team at FORVIA HELLA. I am glad to have started with LF@125kHz and RF / UHF transceivers working at 315/433MHz systems around 2002. Many OEMs with world-wide rolled-out car lines and production sites are using the HELLA technologies and products. UWB came across for Relay Station Attack Defense purpose in 2019 in mass production. The GHz-band has been introduced to use the time-of-flight technique by HELLA for Car Access products. NOW we still have the very robust legacy-technology in mass production - and are very successful with LF antennas, key fobs and different ECUs - AND we are developing Smart Car Access products using additionally NFC, BLE and UWB for CCC based projects. New functions as BTCS for localizing key fobs and smartphones are really cool to be developed by the CAR ACCESS FORVIA-HELLA HW-Team that I am proud to lead and being part of. Having UWB – RADAR functions been established I have the great opportunity to have even more to care of: Child Presence Detection, Intrusion Detection and gesture-recognition using our Car Access anchor modules. So, more to develop than “only” Car Access but super cool functions coming with our HW. Proud to be part of a great team.
I think it is 100% exciting to see ALL big smartphone vendors will have FORVIA HELLA electronic on the car side as the counter part at smart car access function on their list. Great!
