Support the Director and Deputy Director within the Office of Special Education Programs in implementing all aspects of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Develop guidance for States and school districts. Collaborate with other offices within the Department of Education and across the Federal Government in supporting the needs of children with disabilities and the adults who implement IDEA.
I provide technical assistance to states and territories in implementing the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Led Fitchburg's Special Education department with an annual budget of 8-10 million dollars. Duties included staff supervision, program development, grant management, and compliance with Massachusetts and Federal Special Education laws.
