My main role as part of Fraunhofer FKIE's Cyber Analysis and Defense Department is centered on improving the methods available for practical malware research as well as concrete analysis and assessment of malware families, botnet instances, and threat actors. In 2022, I published my dissertation documenting the creation of the Malpedia data set and research findings on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of reverse engineering as an instrument for in-depth analysis. Regarding teaching activities, I have given several presentations and workshops on malware analysis and botnet infiltration, currently mostly in the context of Fraunhofer Academy. University-wise, I function as a Teaching Assistant and Thesis Advisor for computer security related topics.
