As the Senior Preconstruction Manager for a National Group, that specializes in Pharma, Biotech, and Cell + Gene Therapy. I am responsible for overseeing and managing the mechanical, plumbing, fire suppression, low voltage and electrical aspects of multiple large-scale construction projects Ranging in size from $2 Million to over $1.5 Billion during the preconstruction phase to ensure a successful project. Establish accurate baseline budget for job set-up. • Develop conceptual estimates, and detailed conceptual cost studies from schematic or feasibility level documents. • Participate in project interviews and create presentation worthy package that communicates project costs. • Emphasize a strong safety culture and an environment of collaboration, teamwork & transparency at all times. • Represent Company in marketing/networking events, project meetings, planning sessions, design meetings, etc. • Foster a culture of planning, early engagement, collaboration, and accountability through preconstruction • Coach and mentor, the estimating, pre-construction, and construction teams.
As Senior estimator, I manage the process from document intake to project turnover. I analyze drawings and project documents to perform a constructability analysis and identify design and constructability issues. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor proposals relative to their scope of work. Determine if scopes are complete and all gaps are covered. Prepare quality take offs and assemble bids and budgets of entire scope of trades for different contract types (competitive Lump Sum, GMP, Cost Plus or Design Build). Also provide participation in presentations to Owners Architects and Engineers to procure new projects
Estimator / Project Manager, Kirlin Carolinas, Raleigh, NC (2009–Present) Started as Project Manager overseeing multiple hospitals throughout NC. Moved into Regional office to help in the preconstruction and estimating department. With the estimating department having a record amount of projects on the books (over $80 million for this coming year), I accepted an opportunity to once again go into the field as a Project Manager for a 10-story project on the SAS campus in Cary, NC with a $15,000,000 contract.
