Current responsibilities: Medicinal chemistry team lead for a preclinical research project; business project leader for a chemistry informatics project Key strengths: - 25 years of experience as research medicinal chemist, covering target assessment, lead identification and lead optimization phases - therapeutic areas: infectious diseases, metabolic diseases, oncology and ophthalmology, for diseases with high unmet medical need - biochemical targets include: enzyme inhibitors, receptors/GPCRs, kinases - strong drug hunting skills: contribution to the discovery of 7 clinical leads, either as project team member or chemistry team leader, in several therapeutic areas - team leadership: lead several preclinical research teams, as well as global business teams for IT projects Key achievements research: - As a project chemistry team leader: Discovery of two clinical leads for metabolic diseases and ophthalmology - contributions to 5 other clinical leads in infectious diseases and metabolic diseases - key contributions to several other preclinical reasearch projects Key achievements in research informatics as business project leader, in collaboration with Roche pRED informatics: - implemented the first fully electronic global chemistry laboratory notebook in Roche for Medicinal Chemistry, Process Research and Chemical Development. - conducted a major version upgrade project for this ELN system, followed by a smaller upgrade. - implemented a cloud laboratory notebook for Roche Medicinal Chemistry and Process Research CROs in India and China and Europe for >100 users). - development of a new application related to reaction searching form electronic lab notebooks in collaboration wit an external vendor (current activity). Experience in collaboration projects with: - external organizations - external chemistry resources - external software vendors Publications and patents: - 50 patents and publications (2 publications and 3 patents are in preparation) - 4 presentations at conferences or universities
