As a Senior Project Leader at Prognos, I lead and manage studies in the field of innovation and sustainability related policies for EU and national clients. With now almost 15 years of experience in this domain, I have acquired a deep knowledge of the policy landscape, the key challenges, and the best practices for supporting evidence-based decision-making and fostering innovation ecosystems. My core competencies include policy research, evaluation, analysis, and advice, as well as project management, business development, external networking, and thought leadership. I am passionate about finding innovative solutions for complex and emerging policy issues, especially in relation to the green transition and the digital transformation. RAND Europe is a not-for-profit policy research organisation. Its mission is to support policy- and decision-making through evidence-based research and analysis. Covering a wide range of policy domains, the main clients are national and regional governments as well as the EU institutions. JIIP is a think tank and research institute providing intelligence to support policy-making in the fields of research & innovation policy, industrial policy and ICT policy. I started working for JIIP as an in-house consultant in 2010, before joining the institute as its first full-time staff member one year later. I have thus closely been involved in the process of its creation and establishment. My responsibilities included: PROJECT MANAGEMENT: - Coordination and management of ongoing research and other service projects. - Most important project managed: RECREATE (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/603860). POLICY RESEARCH and POLICY ANALYSIS: - Policy-related research and analysis, carried out in the context of service contracts mainly for the European Commission. - Focus areas: Research & innovation, sustainability, international cooperation in science & technology. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: - Identification and pursuit of business opportunities. - Coordination and management of proposals responding to calls for tender etc. ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT and MANAGEMENT: - Working very closely with the JIIP Director, I have been involved in the strategic planning, financial management and HR development from the very foundation of the organisation.
Strauss & Partners is a public affairs consultancy based in Brussels, focussing on research & innovation policy and on ICT policy. My responsibilities focused on the following two accounts: JOINT INSTITUTE FOR INNOVATION POLICY (JIIP) - www.jiip.eu I worked as in-house consultant for about half of my time and helped the institute with the process of its own creation and establishment, business development, management and execution of its first research projects as well as external communications. I was subsequently offered a position by this client (see above). KNOWLEDGE4INNOVATION (K4I) - www.knowledge4innovation.eu K4I is a multi-stakeholder platform the management of which has been entrusted to Strauss & Partners. My responsibilities included organisational development, project management and policy analysis.
Wegweiser GmbH Berlin is a media and publishing company providing various B2B and B2G services. The business line in which I was working focused on the production of business guidebooks for Germany’s main export markets as well as for certain innovative industry sectors. These publications were supported by German ministries and public agencies but largely self-financed. In this context, my responsibilities included: PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Conceptual design of the guidebooks - Development of the content together with various contributing authors FUNDRAISING - Acquisition of public funds (German ministries, public agencies etc.) - Acquisition of advertisements by private companies EDITORIAL WORK - Editing texts once received - Ghostwriting of editorials and greetings by various public figures
