I worked as an associate attorney with the James Kelly Law Firm. The firm does work in both Peoria and Edwardsville, Illinois, where the I worked within several areas of law. This includes a specific focus in the areas of civil litigation, personal injury, and workers' compensation defense.
I primarily assisted in managing the Juvenile Docket for the St. Clair County Public Defender's office, as well as assisted in Criminal Misdemeanor, Traffic, and Felony cases through the Public Defender's Office. I acted as legal counsel for indigent persons in the criminal court system. This includes representing clients in their hearings, arguing substantive motions and other issues of law, and arguing at trial for my clients.
I assisted in legal research for the company, particularly in the field of medical malpractice. My duties including drafting memorandum, court documents, and helping organize information for the company.
