Graduate of Temple University and George Washington University with a strong passion for public health. My focus lies in studying infectious disease epidemiology and biostatistical applications to public health. I am eager to apply my knowledge and communication skills to contribute to impactful public health projects. If you have opportunities in professional public health internships or research collaborations in epidemiology or related areas, I would love to connect with you to make a positive impact on global health outcomes.
I work within the Environmental Health Administration (EHA) conducting 800+ comprehensive inspections of food establishments to ensure compliance with local health regulations, enforcing corrective actions and issuing citations when necessary to uphold public health statutes. I investigate foodborne illness complaints and environmental health hazards through root-cause analysis and structured enforcement protocols to mitigate community risk. Additionally, I provide ongoing education to facility operators and staff on HACCP, food safety, and food defense principles to strengthen regulatory compliance and outbreak prevention. Being in DC allows me to collaborate with federal and local law enforcement agencies to execute sanitation audits at high-profile national security events, proactively addressing biological and chemical safety risks.
Assisting data modernization and surveillance initiatives to strengthen infectious disease response and operational efficiency. Designed and deployed a robust, searchable Tableau dashboard to streamline diagnostic consultation workflows and improve internal reporting. Spearheaded development of a multi-source respiratory illness surveillance dashboard integrating GIS, clinical, and laboratory data across RSV, Influenza, and COVID-19 to support real-time situational awareness and decision-making. Support public health communication efforts by drafting and disseminating respiratory and gastrointestinal outbreak notifications to affected school communities. Enhanced internal program evaluation and operational tracking by developing REDCap metric surveys to monitor rodent control activities, outbreak investigations, and school health suite performance.
I largely worked with the Truth Longitudinal Cohort (TLC), a large nationally-representative survey, in order to better understand tobacco behaviors and attitudes. I regularly organized, cleaned, and maintained the multi-year datasets. Additionally, I have worked with both the quantitative and qualitative data from the TLC in order to better understand individual perceived discrimination, LGBTQ+ identification, and multi-wave smoking trends across demographic categories.
I participated in a large systematic review of diarrhea care seeking behavior. In this role I developed the extraction template that identified major variables of interest. Additionally, I spearheaded the creation of the R script that cleaned, analyzed, and visualized our preliminary data.
