I started out writing PlayStation game engines at Sony and have spent the fifteen years since as a Chief Technology Officer - and I still architect and write code today. That combination of board-level judgement and current technical depth is what I bring to the businesses I work with. As CTO and a board member at ByAtlas, I built the technology stack and architecture from the ground up for a 25-strong team across EMEA, APAC and AMER, running the infrastructure behind some of the largest advertising brands at very high traffic volumes. As CTO at Harley Street Skin Clinic I took a private healthcare provider through a complete transformation, from a paper-based operation to a technology-led one, delivering the patient management, clinical and patient-facing systems that handle sensitive data - and I've since introduced AI and machine learning to ease the administrative load on doctors, surgeons and nurses. Earlier, I founded and bootstrapped Lolly Co, grew it to a team of 29, and saw it acquired by LIDD Supply Chain Consultants in 2023, where I went on to lead their technology function. My focus is compliance-aware engineering: scalable, well-governed systems that are proportionate to the scale of the organisation rather than over-engineered for a scale it hasn't reached. I care about cyber security and data protection as design constraints, not afterthoughts, and about translating technical risk into advice a board can act on. I'm currently building out my non-executive and advisory portfolio alongside my executive roles, and I'm always glad to talk to people working at the intersection of healthcare, data and AI.
Lead the technology function for a private healthcare provider, managing the technology team and advising stakeholders across the business, with direct responsibility for the clinical and operational systems that handle sensitive patient data. Guided the company through its second round of digital transformation, working cross-departmentally on legal and Care Quality Commission (CQC) initiatives. Introduced AI and machine-learning technology to improve patient flow and reduce the administrative workload of doctors, surgeons and nurses. Strengthened the protection of sensitive patient data with bank-level encryption.
Technology leadership for an early-stage, high-growth venture through its pre-launch phase, establishing its initial systems architecture, engineering practices and technology direction.
Joined LIDD following its acquisition of Lolly Co, leading a team of 10 across software and web technology work - spanning ecommerce, CRM, ERP, digital transformation and task automation - for clients including major brands across EMEA, AMER and APAC.
Founded and led Lolly Co, a bootstrapped technology start-up automating white-collar and office processes through bespoke software, web and mobile applications for clients across EMEA and APAC and a wide range of sectors. Grew the team to 29 at its height, with full accountability for technology, delivery and commercial outcomes over four years; much of the technology delivered remains in production use today. The business was acquired by LIDD Supply Chain Consultants in 2023.
