· Working with NetBackup 7.6 Vcenter and ExaGrid storage rebuild backup environment that consist of VM’s SQL, Linux, Exchange and Exagrid and SAN connected tape libraries. · Corrected issues with the Master and Media servers and create documentation for operators to take over day to day tasks. · Rebalanced policies and add and create new storage pools to balance the workload and usage. · Work with support venders to verify licensing and day to day issues and improve backup times with less job queued times to shorten the backup windows. · Worked within VMware and Windows servers to correct issues and to restores · Analyze & document the backup environment from severs storage and protection, and create a project plan of action. · Result: Storage usage was reduced 50% environment management of NBU was reduced and proper policies and SLP’s, old storage pools were cleaned up and backup reduced
• Protecting Company data using NetBackup 7.5.0.6 , Arcserv, VEEAM & Backup Exec for a global company. Also configuring 3 new Data Domain devices within the company as we work on cutting down tape usage on our 6 Tape libraries, and creating reports using Bocada reporting tools and OpsCenter, Stand up new NBU environments with Data Domain and tape libraries. • Data Domain work includes new installs of DD2200 and new NetBackup environments setting up storage pools and optimized replication notifications and alerts, also day to day support of larger DD890 and DD4200 runnning CIFS or VTL and FW updates. • Approximately 1600 clients in the environment including Windows, UNIX, Linux, Exchange, SQL, Oracle and NAS. Worked on hardware & software issues within the team or other teams and working to make a more efficient environment backup environment and correct daily or performance issues. • Worked with systems admin team daily within Windows or VMware to troubleshoot issues or to reduce risk points. • Projects: change over 100% tape backup system over to Data Domain DD890 creating project plan and cut over setting up new storage pools and storage also at the same time decomming an older NBU environment. also stood up 2 new backup locations Running DD2200 and NBU 7.5 replication to DD890
Netbackup Administrator Supported a large Netbackup Environment with 19 media servers and a mix of OS 800 clients including Windows, Unix, VM environment plus Oracle, SQL using SQL agents and Data Domain and tapes. Processing over 5000 jobs a day while maintaining a 99% success rate. The environment used Data Domain and SAN connected Quantum libraries, using SLP to create copies to be sent to Iron Mountain for long term retention, Also worked with VCenter and day to day work on Windows severs, also helped the data center with racking and stacking servers and monitoring using Solarwinds
