As the BBC's Sports Editor I cover a wide range of sports stories for the BBC's various News and Sport platforms on television, radio and online. With a focus on the news, politics, business, legacy & law of sport, I regularly report for the BBC's flagship national network news bulletins; the 1,6 & 10 O'Clock News, Radio 4's Today programme, 5Live, the BBC News Channel, BBC World, and write for BBC Online. Having graduated from Cambridge University in 1998 with a degree in Social and Political Science, I joined the BBC's prestigious News Trainee Scheme, going on to report for regional news programme Look North, BBC Breakfast and News 24 on a range of business, political and general news stories. I joined Sky Sports News as a reporter in 2003, and was appointed Chief News Reporter in 2007. After a year and a half freelancing for a range of clients I returned to the BBC as Sports News Correpondent in 2010, promoted to Chief Sports Correspondent 3 years later, & then appointed Sports Editor in 2014. I have reported from many major events around the world, covering 5 football World Cups in Germany, South Africa, Brazil, Russia & Qatar, the London 2012, Rio 2016 & Tokyo 2020 Games, and 4 rugby World Cups; I have made several special in-depth documentaries on a range of sports news stories, and was co-host of The Sports Desk podcast.
