I am a Professional Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Canada with more than two decades of experience in the aerospace industry, spanning technical excellence, leadership, governance, and strategic impact. Beyond my engineering career, I am deeply committed to advancing human rights, equity, and inclusive leadership. As Co-Founder and CEO of Global Women in STEM, I lead initiatives that address systemic barriers and create inclusive pathways into STEM through education, innovation, advocacy, and action. My work sits at the intersection of engineering, governance, and social impact. Over the past 20 years, I have served as a board director, advisor, and contributor to organizations across governance, justice, healthcare, education, research, and community development at local, provincial, national, and international levels. My lifelong goal is to create meaningful and sustainable impact through service, leadership, and collaboration. As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry and an advocate for human rights, I champion women in leadership roles, pay equity, equal and diverse representation on boards, and safe workplaces. Through community building, storytelling, and advocacy, I work to advance gender equity and help eliminate workplace gender-based violence. I am equally passionate about inspiring the next generation through STEM outreach, mentorship, and education, helping young people develop the confidence and curiosity to shape the future. In recognition of my work on advancing gender equality and women's empowerment, I was invited by the Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Youth to serve as an advisor and member of Canada's official delegation to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in 2023 and 2025. I was also invited by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) as an expert participant and advisor to the 2023 Expert Meeting on Space for Women. My professional achievements, community leadership, and volunteer service have been recognized through numerous honours, including the King Charles III Coronation Medal, Governor General’s Award in Commemoration of the Persons Case, BC Achievement Foundation Community Award, Engineers Canada Meritorious Service Award for Professional Service, Engineers and Geoscientists BC McLachlan Award for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering, Northern Lights Aero Foundation Elsie MacGill Award in Engineering, and UVic Distinguished Alumni President’s Award.
