Worked as a Mechanical Engineer initially, and then progressed to work globally in technical, commercial & managerial roles. Responsible for project managing €25m out of a total of €200m in the construction of a state of the art cement plant in Ireland. Qualified as chartered management accountant in 2014. Recent roles were Development Analyst in the M&A Dept and Senior Performance & Innovation Specialist for the Group where I had significant responsibility in the €6.5bn acquisition of Lafarge Holcim assets. Design and implementation of KPIs (financial, operational, and commercial) that identify and capture value creation within the business. Understanding the real drivers of performance and value, and leveraging the scale of the company platform and global network to drive growth and innovation.
Led strategic reviews of multiple subsidiaries/divisions. Developed detailed financial models to determine the enterprise value of target entities. Deals ranged from €10m to €400m. Responsible for detailed due diligence investigations on multiple continents often leading to full board proposals.
Managed the collection, consolidation, and analysis of technical, financial, and environmental data from all group cement companies, spanning Europe, America and Asia, reviewing KPIs and performance trends, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, costs, best practice, and areas for improvement.
Directly responsible for €25m of a €200m total investment in a new cement plant, finishing on time, and within budget. Seconded to Copenhagen for 7 months during this to work directly with main equipment designers.
