Watu is active in: - Providing asset financing for Mobility (2 and 3 wheelers) as well as Communication (Samsung Smartphones). - Leading the Electric Vehicles (EV) revolution in Africa through its focus on EV asset financing as well as through its investment in EV manufacturing and in building a sustainable netwoek of battery swapping stations. - Making the roads safer by operating its own driving schools (WATU Shule).
‐ Managed the strategy and P&L of 4 subsidiaries and reported to the Group's top management ‐ Led the closing of two subsidiaries in Africa (HR, legal, financial aspects) ‐ Led the sale of comptoirsanté.com to Santédiscount (parapharmacy ecommerce website)
‐ Implemented strategic projects to accelerate Cdiscount’s marketplace developement ‐ Executed the company’s desinvestment strategy from its international subsidiaries in Africa (Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cameroun) and South East Asia (Thailand, Vietnam)
‐ Assisted Total’s APAC VP in negotiating with Myanmar partners for the creation of an oil&gas downstream Joint Venture and for the development of a 30MW solar plant ‐ Commercialized hybrid minigrids (Solar&fuel) to telecom infrastructure players ‐ Developed sales of automative lubricants through branded car workshops, OEMs, independent retailers and petrol stations ‐ Closed industrial oil contracts with key accounts in power, cement & mining sectors ‐ Managed a >$100K marketing budget and launched ATL and BTL campaigns
‐ Assessed the market and prepared legal and business due diligence ahead of launch. ‐ Launched sales in 8 regions of Myanmar (20K solar kits sold) through a Last-Mile network of 150 rural agents and through BtoB partners (SMEs and NGOs) ‐ Developed product loans & pay-as-you go solutions through microfinance partners
‐ Prepared the CEO’s presentations to financial analysts for investors meetings ‐ Identified acquisition targets in the rail infrastructure sector and assisted the M&A department in the acquisition process ‐ Completed competitor analysis and market intelligence
