As part of a virtual work experience programme at Barclays, I gained hands-on insight into the fundamentals of financial analysis and strategic planning. During the programme, I: Reviewed and analysed financial reports to identify key trends, performance indicators, and insights. Answered scenario-based questions using data-driven reasoning and financial principles. Developed a forward-looking financial plan based on historical performance, market context, and business objectives. Enhanced my understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making in a corporate environment. This experience sharpened my analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex financial data—key skills I aim to build on in a future career in finance.
