As a sales assistant I would handle transactions on a till, assist customers in finding their desired products and help restock and organise the shop. I would often manage the shop alone and worked on my customer service skills in this role.
As a waitress I was trusted with many tasks around the restaurant, serving and clearing plates, handling transactions on the till, taking orders both in person and online and helping clean up around the restaurant. More often than not I would be the only waitress present so I learnt about working in a fast paced work environment. I believe I gained good customer service skills and communication skills from this job from interacting with customers and caring for their needs. It also gave me useful skills such as being able to manage a till and handle money.
I attended work experience at Oakwood Solicitors in 2019 in order to expand my experience in the legal sector as I planned on undertaking a law degree. My main duties while I was there were to write articles to be listed on their website surrounding health issues so I improved on my research skills, and to examine clients records and decipher which information was pertinent to the case in order for the client to claim compensation.
