David is an instrument-rated pilot experienced with Boeing and competitor’s airplanes. He retired as Executive Director of Boeing’s Product Development, which was responsible for the launch of the 787, the 747-8, the Russian SSJ-100, several 777 products including the 777F, small variants of the 737, and as Program manager for 767F development. He started out as an airplane performance expert and was involved in negotiations with the Chinese military for flights in Tibet. He now hosts an AIAA Seattle Retirees brunch and aviation technical speaker's forum at the Museum of Flight, is involved in several Boards, has been a guest speaker at Universities including MIT, speaks about aviation at High School engineering classes, and is a ConvAirT partner. David also owns AndersonPacific Consulting, which consults with companies on subjects such as Large Scale Systems Integration, Gated Decision Making, and Risk Management. These are settings where cross-functional communication, strategic planning, option evaluations are critical. He also participates in independent technical reviews for the development of products, technology, land, businesses, and vehicle integration.
The ConvAirT Group is composed of several separate businesses who have agreed to work together on various aviation needs. Current focus is on helping small airlines/businesses sell or buy what they need for aircraft or parts, and providing an aviation tutorial for businesses to use to give their employees a broad overview of the aviation industry. This includes the publication of the Aircraft Market bulletin. Teaching varies from a presentation to STEM classes and up to a two-week symposium that includes IATA-authorized gaming.
This three-person team hosts a bi-monthly brunch and aviation technical speaker's forum at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. We negotiate contracts with the MoF and their caterer, McCormick & Schmick's, manage income and expenses, maintain a roster, select speakers, and invite our group of aviation enthusiasts to participate. I am the Emcee for each brunch, which includes maintaining order, announcing information, entertaining the audience, introducing each speaker, and closing our time together.
AndersonPacific Consulting provides advice to companies that do not compete with Boeing, on subjects such as Large Scale Systems Integration, Decision Making, and Risk Management. We also participate in independent technical reviews for companies that include such businesses including material development, ship-building, and land development.
As a non-Board-member advocate for owners in the Tumble Creek community, I help the Board finance team understand what financial decisions are useful and acceptable to homeowners. My team provides broad oversight (looking at the forest) to financial decisions while the Board is working the details (focusing on the trees).
