I worked closely with a team of senior veterinarians, a veterinary assistant, and a veterinary technician to provide comprehensive care for companion animals. This involved conducting consultations, developing treatment plans, performing routine exams, vaccinations, and surgical procedures, and managing clinic operations. I gained proficiency in using diagnostic tools and revising clinic protocols. Additionally, I prioritized ongoing education, attending conferences and seminars to stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. Through these experiences, I developed strong clinical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to providing compassionate care to our patients and their owners.
I played a crucial role in patient care by obtaining and recording patient data and history, collecting samples for laboratory tests, and performing various medical diagnostics under the supervision of the attending veterinarian. Additionally, I administered medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed, assisted in both minor and major surgical procedures, and closely monitored patient condition during confinement, implementing treatment plans formulated by the attending veterinarian.
I collaborated with on-site colleagues during my internship to conduct diagnostics and documentation remotely. As part of the internship, I completed various training courses on core microbiology skills, routine microscopy procedures, and the identification of unknown microorganisms. Additionally, I wrote and presented parasitology case reports and studies on laboratory techniques for diagnosing parasitic infections. Furthermore, I gained familiarity with the application of whole genome sequencing in pathogen diagnostics.
