A Chicago-based visual artist, critic, and cultural heritage imaging professional with eighteen years of experience in the digitization of cultural heritage materials and digital assets and project management with an emphasis on color management, analytics, image quality standards, and quality control. I earned my BFA in Painting and Art History from the Kansas City Art Institute and my MFA from the Department of Art Theory and Practice at Northwestern University. My art has been exhibited nationally and internationally and my art criticism as appeared in Newcity, Chicago Reader, Bridge, and the New Art Examiner. My interests include environmental aesthetics, natural history, ecology, deep time, and technology.

As member of the Production Team with Data Curation, Academic Innovtion, my primary focus is the digitization of objects of cultural heritage including manuscripts, books, prints, photographs, film and glassplate negatives and transparencies, maps, broadsides, and original art using a range of digital capture hardware that includes Digital Transitions capture stations with PhaseOne iXH, iXG, and RCam cameras; the ATIZ Mark II BookDrive; the i2s SupraScan Quartz A1 HD planetary scanner; and various flatbed Epson scanners including the Expression 12,000XL. I create custom color profiles and perform quality control of digital images using Image Science Associates GoldenThread diagnostics system to ensure images are created and managed in accordance with the Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI). Minimal level metadata creation and ingestion of digital content into the university's digital repository. Text Lead: Manages the digitization queue for text and other bound materials. Manages HathiTrust workflow for our text-based digital content. Processing of digital images using Limb Processing, OCR using ABBYY 10 Engine, and HathiTrust submission package creation and ingest. Quality Lead: Co-designed, implemented, and administers my unit's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. Documenting our processes, procedures, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives in line with library needs and digitization standards. Monitor all nonconformities. Lead my Work Group's quarterly Project Cycle Retrospective meetings. Served as the Project Manager for all Background Projects: long-term, high volume digitization projects that the staff work on when assigned projects have stalled. Served as backup to the Production Coordinator of our unit for ten years. Hire, train, and supervise my Work Group's student employees.
Part-time lab technician for the department of Art Theory & Practice. Assisted students and faculty and monitored and maintained various facilities, including the wood shop, sculpture lab, darkroom, print-studio, computer lab, large-format printer, and A/V equipment.
Taught the technical aspects of life drawing, including the nude figure, through the instruction of such formal vocabulary as line, value, and perspective, art history, and human anatomy. To this end I developed drawing assignments, gave slide presentations, conducted technical demos, led classroom critiques, organized field trips, and assigned grades.
