I currently work for ramsac as Head of IT Operations, leading the IT Ops team to deliver value to clients through automation, reporting, monitoring and service request fulfilment, as well as exploring new opportunities to further enhance ramsac's customer offerings and services. In particular, I am driving cybersecurity products and offerings to help improve our clients' resilience against cyber attacks and threat actors. Until September 2021, I worked for Zurich Insurance Plc. for 8 years, having joined as an IT graduate and most recently having worked as the UK IT Service Management Lead, responsible for ensuring Zurich UK's business received the best possible service from our IT service providers through a team of IT Service Managers. In June 2013 I graduated from the University of Southampton with First Class Honours in BSc Computer Science. During my time on the course, I developed a number of skills including programming languages like Python and Java, fundamentals of databases, networks and web security, and computer mathematics.
As of November 2024, my role has grown into Head of Technical Development & Cybersecurity at ramsac. My role consists chiefly of guiding a team of 18 people who responsible for driving the ramsac business forward through new product development and internal efficiencies, as well as delivering critical managed, cyber and consultancy services for our clients. We identify, test and implement new solutions and product opportunities for our clients, in particular in the Cyber space. But not only do we look for new product opportunities, we are on an ambitious journey to transform the way our teams work with the use of automation and AI tools.
On 6th September I joined the ramsac team as the new Head of IT Operations. I am responsible for leading our IT Operations team which primarily delivers monthly client reporting and 24/7 infrastructure monitoring, drives automation and CSI opportunities, and handles request fulfilment services. Everything we do is highly focussed around client experience and creating positive outcomes and perceptions on ramsac's totalIT managed service offering. My other primary focus is to drive and deliver exciting new cybersecurity products and services, aimed at improving the cyber resilience of our clients and providing a further layer of protection against cyber attacks and threat actors.
I led Zurich UK's team of IT Service Managers. Together we support the whole of the UK IT estate, managing high severity issues with our suppliers and ensuring that our business users and customers get the best possible experience with IT at Zurich. We constantly strive to deliver improvements in this experience for our customers and to ensure that our employees are empowered through their IT service to achieve their business goals.
I achieved the ad-interim role of UK IT Service Management Lead covering the whole UK business & IT estate at Zurich.
I was the IT Service Delivery Manager for our Shared Services and Commercial Broker business units at Zurich. I took responsibility for Shared Services in February 2014 and Commercial Broker in October 2014. Some of my key responsibilities included managing high severity incidents with the business and our IT suppliers, dealing with general escalations or incidents lacking clarity, monitoring service levels and reporting these to key stakeholders in the business, identifying potential problem incidents and seeing these through to resolution with the help of our Problem Management function, live application monitoring, and engaging with projects at all phases to ensure the right support models are in place post go-live.
I enjoyed working as a part time sales assistant at WHSmith Guildford for a number of years. Throughout my time with the company, I was awarded responsibility of looking after departments within the store, leading late night replenishment work after hours in the absence of management, and holding store keys. Working at WHSmith has greatly improved my communication skills and made me a more confident person.
