People don't act on what they know. They act on what they trust. That belief has become the foundation of my work. For more than two decades, I've explored a question that extends far beyond healthcare: Why do effective technologies, evidence-based interventions, and well-intentioned strategies so often fail to produce meaningful behavior change? Again and again, the answer points to the same missing ingredient: trust. Trust influences whether someone schedules a cancer screening. Trust influences whether communities engage with healthcare. Trust influences whether organizations translate strategy into sustainable impact. As a behavioral scientist, health equity strategist, and population health researcher, I help health systems, academic institutions, foundations, nonprofits, and industry partners bridge the gap between what they know and what people actually do. As Founder & Chief Advisor of Rogers Solutions Group, I advise executive leaders on strategy, implementation, leadership development, community engagement, partnership development, and systems transformation. I also serve as Founder & President of the Colorectal Cancer Equity Foundation and Founding Director of the Men's Health Inequities Research Lab. One lesson has remained constant: Data informs decisions. Trust determines whether people act. My research has been supported by the National Cancer Institute and the V Foundation for Cancer Research and published in The Lancet Oncology, JAMA Health Forum, and JAMA Network Open. My work has been featured by the W.H.O., NPR, ESPN, HuffPost, AfroTech, Rolling Out, Word In Black, and on the cover of VL Magazine.
