My professional experience is academic strongly experimental in the field of optical techniques for investigating fluids. I spent 5 years in the labs of the Prof Giglio and Vailati (Univ. of Milano) dealing with measurements about the mass diffusion of binary mixtures of miscible fluids. First (Master), I designed and developed an instrument to prepare the 'starting' condition for a free diffusion experiment with the two fluids completely separated. Second (PhD) I developed the differential dynamic analysis to get the temporal correlation function out of near field scattering images to measure the dynamics of the non diffusive decay of concentration non equilibrium fluctuations in the presence of gravity. In 2006 I started a PostDoc at the Univ. of Milano-Bicocca for the design of two plasma sources for surface treatment of different materials: an inductive source was used for modifying the surface of PVC films to obtain a semi-conductive surface; a microwave source was used for partial carbonization of a precursor of carbon fibers. Meanwhile I started collaborating with the group of Prof. Mantegazza of the Medicine dept. for developing different algorithms for dynamical measurements with NFS set-ups. The technique was also applied to depolarized measurements of anisotropic particles. In 2009 I moved to Biarritz to perform interferometric measurements on the influence of pressure and porous media on the Soret effect during a 1-year PostDoc. After that I obtained a FP7 Marie Curie IEF Fellowship hosted by Prof. Scheffold (Univ. Fribourg, CH). For that, in 2010 I moved to Fribourg to develop my project DyNeFI for applying the dynamic NFS technique to different fields. In particular I used it to measure the Soret coefficient in ordinary binary mixtures and in critical ones in the vicinity of the critical temperature. In November 2012 I came back to Biarritz with a CNRS Researcher temporary position to pursue my experimental activity.
