I'm a Computer Science and Business student at UC3M, focused on applying Machine Learning to real-world problems in healthcare. This summer I'm joining Institut Pasteur as an Amgen Scholar 2026, at the BioImage Analysis Unit, where I'll work on a deep learning project for extracting and analyzing vascular networks from 3D microscopy images. As part of the program, I will also attend the Amgen Scholars European Symposium at the University of Cambridge. Beyond these, I've been building an EEG-based seizure detection system on the CHB-MIT dataset, focused on patient-independent validation and clinical reliability (calibration, uncertainty, explainability). I was also part of the 1st place team at the JetBrains hackathon, where we built a PyCharm plugin that uses real-time project context (GitHub, Jira, Slack) to make codebases easier to navigate. In June 2026, my team won the 1st Prize at the C4DX Challenge organized by the IRSST-UC3M Chair. Our project, SpineUp, is a smart textile cover that combines IoT capacitive sensors and pneumatic actuators to retrain workers' proprioception and prevent musculoskeletal disorders in office settings. I'm particularly interested in machine learning systems with real clinical impact: signal processing, medical imaging, and decision support. Always open to connecting with people working at the intersection of AI and healthcare.
Internship at the Rail Automation business unit, focused on managing and restructuring large-scale operational datasets in a safety-critical environment. - Cleaned, standardized and validated heterogeneous data sources across engineering teams, improving consistency and traceability of the underlying records. - Built and maintained reliable structures for downstream analysis used by multidisciplinary teams. - Worked under data reliability standards specific to regulated industrial contexts (railway signalling and automation). A first hands-on experience with the realities of large-scale data work: legacy systems, ambiguous source-of-truth, and the importance of disciplined data governance.
