During the upgrade program of the storage ring (EBS), the vacuum group has been deeply involved in the vacuum system design, procurement, installation and commissioning. Main activities and responsibilities: - management of the group (11 people) - organize different activities in the lab (cleaning, coating, assembly etc…) - procurement (and validation) of vacuum components, including tenders - planning and execution of interventions - planning and follow-up of the upgrade long shut-down activities - vacuum system design of beamlines and optical instruments (monochromators, mirrors, slits and undulators)
Vacuum system design and procurement of PVD and CVD coating machines for High Temperature Superconductors production. Planning schedule and management of contractors for system manufacturing.
Support sales and key customers for technical aspects. Help customers in designing the vacuum system and /or customized products. Solve issues. Develop and deliver (from design to manufacturing) customized products (pumps and electronics). Development of partnership with key accounts. Participate in the internal product’s lines roadmaps for new products' introduction.
Full responsibility of product line, define products and their customization. Follow-up and solve quality and technical issues. Support sales for negotiation and solutions.
Technical and quality management of suppliers. Price negotiation and contracts. Materials: finished products (box built), precision machined parts, electronics, motors, bearings, vacuum chambers and others.
Define the product line strategy of both high voltage power supplies and ion pumps. New products development and introduction, respect of target costs, time to market. Lead the design team. Lead lab activities. Support MFG in defining vacuum and cleaning process. Frequent contacts with key customers for applications developments and customization.
Responsible of electronics products design. Project and product management: define specs of electronics products. Ffollow-up project with external suppliers for design, product certification (CE e CSA) and production start-up.
HW design Main projects: anti-theft system for South-America market and Info-Navigator system in co-design with Bull-Italy (Milan - Italy).
