Over my 8 years as a board member at the AWC-UNY I contributed in every aspect of the organization. As President and Past President, I worked to build the relevance of the AWC-UNY in the Rochester Community and develop new offerings valuable to our members. My efforts led to doubling of our membership and increased recognition for our award, the IT Woman of the Year. This award highlighting our mission to promote women as leaders in the IT community and was paired with a scholarship for a member of our collegiate chapter at RIT. This award is carried on by Tech Rochester who merged with the AWC-UNY. As a major event chair, I created marketing materials, sponsorship opportunities, call lists and scripts for soliciting donations, secured and coordinated venue setup, managed the event budget and wrote and delivered a keynote address. I was active on the National AWC board and coordinated the national conference to be held in Rochester.
