Middle Ridge, Queensland, Australia
I am currently undertaking a pharmacy degree and have developed a strong interest in core disciplines such as pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, patient counselling, and drug interactions. Alongside my studies, I have gained practical experience through my roles as a Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Student, where I have refined my skills in medication management and patient care. These positions have allowed me to translate academic knowledge into practice within both clinical and community settings, strengthening my understanding of pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic applications, and the critical importance of safe medication practices. Before beginning my career in pharmacy, I held several management roles in the Philippines, including Business Development Manager and Retail Store Manager. These positions enhanced my ability to perform effectively under pressure, lead diverse teams, and maintain high levels of organisation skills that continue to be invaluable in pharmacy practice. I have also worked in early childhood education, progressing from assistant to lead educator and substitute kindergarten teacher. This experience strengthened my communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills, particularly in tailoring information to meet diverse developmental and learning needs, an ability that translates directly to effective patient engagement and education within healthcare settings. I remain committed to staying informed about the latest advancements in the pharmaceutical industry to ensure my practice reflects the highest standards of patient safety and health outcomes. My enduring fascination with the profound impact of medications on quality of life continues to motivate me to pursue safer and more effective approaches to patient care. I am dedicated to applying my knowledge, skills, and experience to make a meaningful contribution to the community as a future pharmacist.
