I am an experienced Non-Executive Director, Advisory Board and Committee Member, as well as provide CFO and capital advisory services - including assessing and investing in private businesses. I am also an experienced senior executive, Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary with local and international experience gained in listed companies such as Shine Justice, Gallagher Bassett, Flight Centre and Anglo American. I have broad functional experience, having led most corporate functions including Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Risk Management, Legal, Procurement and Corporate Services. I have particular interests in capital management, IPOs, mergers & acquisitions and fit for purpose corporate governance processes around board and committee structures, strategic planning, and ongoing board reporting. I am open to new Non-Executive Director, Audit Committee and Advisory Board roles, as well as Interim Executive and Chief Financial Officer engagements. I have a passion for my local community (in Brisbane's norhside), currently holding the role of President of Wilston Grange Gorillas (AFL), past Committee member at Wilston North Junior Cricket Club and past President and School Council member (board) of Windsor State School. I am a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a member of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand (CA).
CHSL invests in private and listed entities as well as provides capital advisory (M&A, IPO, Private raisings), Board advisory and CFO related consultancy services. Recent assignments have included acting for The University of Qld to divest a biomedical business to a private organisation, an interim CFO/COO role for Fupay Holdings Ltd, and assisting a private land restoration company raise capital.
The Queensland Brain Institute's (QBI) Stroke Advisory Board aims to raise funds to establish the Stroke Recovery Research Laboratories. Globally, there are 62 million living survivors of stroke. Improving stroke recovery will not only benefit individuals and their carers, but will also have major social and economic impacts. Caylamax undertakes domestic and commercial building demolitions, asbestos removal, skip bin hire and building product recycling across South East Queensland, ACT and NZ. As an Advisory Board Member and Shareholder, I assisted the group holding entity acquire the Caylamax Group and to establish appropriate Board Structures.
As an inaugural Board member, I assisted establish Gather My Crew, a Not for Profit Organisation that provides a free, online tool that helps makes it possible for normal life to continue when crisis strikes. The easy-to-use online tool links people in need to their own network of ‘helpers’ (friends, family and colleagues) in an easy and coordinated way.
