Craig is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience working on development and delivery of transport infrastructure across Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. During this time, Craig has led work at portfolio, programme and project levels. Most recently Craig has been the Manager of Portfolio Definiton, leading work on the 10-year State Highway Investment Proposal and 3-year Portfolio Delivery Plan. Between 2020 and 2024, Craig has played an integral role in Waka Kotahi's delivery of the NZ Upgrade Programme (now MCIP/ RORS programmes). This included programme establishment and baselining, through to its transition into delivery. Craig's last role during this time as as Programme Director. Prior to this and between 2015 and 2019, Craig led the Waka Kotahi response to the future urban areas in Auckland. This involved completion of the Transport for Future Urban Growth project, undertaken jointly with Auckland Transport and Auckland Council and which first established the future transport networks for each of these greenfield growth areas. Craig also played a integral role in the establishment of the Supporting Growth Alliance, the largest planning alliance in Australasia and held the role of Waka Kotahi Owner Interface Manager.
