Greater Leicester Area
Gordon Davis Pharmacy was an independent pharmacy chain, but was not as corporate as Boots. It had more of a family feel to it. The company had approximately 30-35 stores, so it wasn't that small either. Duing my time here, the A.C.T qualification came out, at which point I took it. I often worked with Simon Davis, at the head office in Anstey, Leicester, as I was also tasked to take photography shots of products, and design the window offer displays for all the stores, for example 3 for 2, and shelf edge barker cards. The company was then sold to the Co-Operative pharmacy chain.
I started at Boots The Chemist in 1994, where I was shown and learnt all processes, procedures, and departments within the company. These include, stock control, merchandising, window displays, payroll, cashing up, epos systems, and many more. I often went on department training in Nottingham, to be trained within each department. I was also trained in security, and trained to search vehicles, and people. On a monthly bases, I would work in the area office, to obtain data from all the stores, gaining data from the stores computer systems, and sending this data so that each store could track progress and targets. Prior to the roll out of the Sunrise training program, I was asked to go to the head office in Beeston Nottingham to review the program. During my time with boots, I worked my way up through the company levels.
