      Counselling. I get to meet with and help people live life. Using the Bible, together we successfully deal with things like marriage, parenting, life decisions as well as many other issues like depression, anger and addictive behaviors. I have also helped families reconcile interpersonal conflict. I also get to do pre-marital counselling and officiate weddings as well as memorials and celebrations of life. Teaching. Weekly I teach one of COBC’s Sunday morning Adult Bible Fellowships as well as a Tuesday evening Community Group. Additionally, I regularly teach for the IronWorks (Men's,) LifeHouse (Teen,) and HOS (School) ministries. Worship Services. I oversee the weekly Sunday morning gatherings, scheduling any special activities (speakers, choirs, offertory videos, etc.). This includes managing the Sunday morning ministries - Ushers, Greeters, Guest Services while coordinating with the Sound/Technical and Worship Teams. I have planned and conducted special services like Easter, Christmas (Eve and morning), Advent and Celebration Sundays. First Contact for the Church.       I have handled the administrative responsibilities for Country Oaks and will continue to do so as Associate Pastor. Business. I am responsible for the day to day operations of Tehachapi’s largest church (that has a K-12 school ministry.) I obtain, assess and implement legal, tax and business requirements for the church as well as its employees, managing all employee benefits. Supervising all non-pastoral staff, I provide direction and handle discrepancies and personnel problems. I evaluate all event requests and manage the church’s busy calendar. Finance. I oversee a million-dollar budget for one of the largest non-profits in Tehachapi. Monitoring and maintaining church finances, the Treasurer and I work together under the oversight of the church’s Elder Board to maintain a proper cash flow. I also schedule and conduct the Pre-Annual and Annual Business meetings. Church Life. I supervise the Adult Education such as our ABF’s (Adult Bible Fellowships) and our Community (Home) Groups. I also schedule and plan special classes for parenting, marriage, teaching, etc. I supervise the “Helps” ministries, GriefShare, DivorceCare and Making Peace With Your Past and schedule pastoral visits. Events. I plan, execute and oversee all of the church’s special events, like Christmas Dinners, Picnics, Marriage Retreats, Movie Nights, Staff Retirements, Concerts, Hymn Sing-Alongs, etc. I also coordinate any training events as well as our quarterly New Members Classes.     I am currently teaching "Apologetics" but also teach "Applied Theology" (a biblical life application class) to our High School students, training them to thrive in their scholastic endeavors as well as live life with, from and through a biblical worldview. I have also taught High School "College and Life Study Skills" as well as Junior High Writing, English (Grammar/ Writing,) Latin 1, Physical Education to Secondary (Junior High and High School) Students, having also substituted for several other classes.

    Presently, I devote my "spare time" to planning and promoting the Annual T-Town Rumble Car Show & Vintage Trailer Round-Up, a fundraising event for Heritage Oak School. The next event, the 11th Annual Rumble took place in 2021. Later Rumbles not only featured killer cars but also showcased vintage trailers and motorcycles. Considering bringing the Rumble back next year! From planning back yard parties and punk concerts in the late 70's to promoting rock shows in the Hollywood of the 1980's, from throwing dinners for hundreds to hosting picnics for a thousand to organizing and executing marriage, discipleship conferences and big group Bible studies, I have always loved the thrill of planning and hosting an Event!
