Sustainability is my DNA - a journey to leave this planet in better shape to future generations. By engineering education, I was driven to the design, project and construction management of Green, Sustainable and Technical challenging projects, with over 300MW built wind farm capacity in Belgium, Senegal, Mongolia, Taiwan, ... , multidisciplinary teams in high dynamic businesses. Time has come to have more direct impact in the biggest challenge of humanity ever - rapid decarbonisation and rebalancing our society to fit within the planetary boundaries and the pace of the amazing ecosystem Earth. Initiator of the citizens initiative 'Fruit the City' to encourages local citizens and neighbourhoods to join forces while planting fruit trees along with berry bushes in public areas of the city. Fruit trees in the city bring people together over all generations and cultures to enjoy blossom in spring, cool shadow in summer, and fruits harvest in automn. In January '26 we planted the food forest 'Bos Beiaard' in Dendermonde, the conversion of a 8000m² meadow into a flourishing and biodiverse food forrest where trees, bushes, berries and herbs bring citizens together in experiencing regenerative food production, along with reconnecting citizens and educational initiatives. www.bosbeiaard.be
