Over the past 20 years' I’ve had the privilege of working alongside mission driven teams to advance awareness and education of important issues to the community; while removing barriers to access to create equity, and opportunity for all. I've worked through reimagining legacy revenue and engagement models to integrating systems and service lines to support stretch revenue goals. I've secured and led others to secure transformational revenue - accelerating organizations to the next phase of growth. I've shaped data-informed narratives that mobilize funding and momentum. Whether partnering with individuals, foundations, businesses, nonprofits, boards, or community leaders, I approach the work with humility, curiosity, and a shared commitment to making a difference.
After more than a decade, I left the University of Houston for the opportunity to explore and deepen my understanding of the broader forces shaping our region's talent pipeline and economic mobility. During this time, I was able to meet with higher education leaders across the region to understand their students' challenges and opportunities. I engaged with organizational leadership and development executives to gain insights into industry trends and through full-time work assignments I gained a front-line perspective on how rapidly shifting technologies, evolving employer expectations, and changing learner needs are reshaping our entire education-to-workforce ecosystem. Through these activities , my appreciation for the essential role of community colleges in higher education grew. They are the institutions most closely connected to local industry, most responsive to learners' real-life circumstances, and the most capable of removing barriers to access and opportunity.
Taking time off from my professional career gave me the invaluable opportunity to invest deeply in my community and my family. During this time, I devoted myself to volunteering in early childhood education, supporting faith-based initiatives, and leading local community groups—experiences that allowed me to connect with people, serve with purpose, and witness impact at a grassroots level. It was also a profound privilege to be present for my children during these formative years, guiding and learning alongside them. This chapter not only strengthened my sense of purpose but also clarified how I want to make a difference moving forward—by continuing to lead with empathy, service, and a deep commitment to community.
