My Professional Values: Customer Satisfaction: Whether it is a business, public place or my own home people deserve respect when they enter anyplace. My approach to customer service is built around the golden rule: treat others how you would like to be treated. That includes a welcoming tone, being available to give assistance, and giving my best effort to reasonably accommodate customer requests. These three tactics have served me well over the years and has made me an appreciated part of every team I have ever been a part of. Even in the rare instance where a patron is truly rude and inconsiderate I do not let them affect me. These times where I have had to deal with an unruly customer have given me a thick skin and the skill of maintaining composure in a stressful situation. I have been a witness to situations where fellow coworkers failed to maintain composure and have made the situation not only worse for themselves and the belligerent guest, but also their coworkers and every surrounding guest. These situations are best avoided. A great focus for me is the satisfaction I feel after helping someone and streamlining their experience. Leading Through Example: The Power of Teaching In my career journey, I've had many chances to step into leadership roles, often getting promoted to manager or supervisor positions in the organizations I've joined. What sets my leadership style apart is that I prefer showing the way rather than just giving orders or closely managing my colleagues. I believe in leading by example. Instead of bossing people around, I roll up my sleeves and work alongside my team, teaching them and making sure they understand the standards we need to uphold. What I've noticed is that when you teach and demonstrate tasks with confidence, people don't need constant orders to get things done. It's all about that sense of satisfaction you get from doing a job well and helping others do the same. To me, being a good leader and manager means giving your colleagues the confidence and skills to handle tasks independently. I've been lucky to be mentored by some excellent managers who've shown me the importance of being efficient and self-assured at work. Plus, I've had the privilege of working with coworkers who are eager to learn, just like I was when I started in the same position.
