I’m a Senior R&D Engineer specializing in class III cardiovascular medical devices, with a Master’s degree from EPFL and international experience at UC San Diego. I drove the TRIFLO Heart Valve from concept to First-in-Human implantation, leading R&D, verification & validation, and regulatory compliance under MDR and ISO standards. My background spans product and process development, process validation, industrialization, and cross-functional team leadership gained in both emerging start-ups and large companies. Fluent in French, English, and Spanish, I thrive in international, high-stakes environments. Passionate about innovation and impact, I’m always open to connecting with professionals in medical devices and health tech. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected]
Playing a major role in the development of an innovative artificial heart valve (class III medical device), which led to the successful First-in-Human implantation in 2023. • Directed R&D characterization activities, including mechanical and material testing, durability, hydrodynamics, cavitation, corrosion, failure mode analysis, CFD-FSI, PIV experiments, and FEA simulations. • Led MDR-compliant Verification & Validation and preclinical programs for the TRIFLO Heart Valve, resulting in EU First-in-Human approval and full compliance with ISO 13485 and ISO 5840 requirements. • Delivered full process validation packages (sterilization, shelf-life, packaging, sealing, transport), resulting in improved product robustness and regulatory readiness. • Supported industrialization and manufacturing transfer, working with strategic suppliers to optimize processes and scalability. • Provided direct strategic support to the CEO, contributing to roadmap definition, resource planning, and executive decision-making. • Managed and mentored a team of R&D engineers and interns, fostering technical excellence and accountability. • Oversaw an annual R&D budget > CHF 1.5M, optimizing resource allocation and project efficiency. • Led collaborations with 20+ academic and industrial partners across Europe and internationally. • Represented the company at major international conferences (EACTS, EuroPCR, HVS), strengthening clinical and scientific visibility. • Contributed directly to ISO 13485 certification (2024) through implementation of compliant processes and documentation.
Working within Ethicon as process engineer for class 3 implantable medical devices. • Base business engineering and operations: provide daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve production goals (i.e. quality, safety, delivery, cost and productivity). • Process engineering and continuous improvement: support the development of process design deliverables for next-generation and already commercialized products through equipment validation and manufacturing automation.
Research internship in the Cartilage and Tissue Engineering Laboratory, supervised by Prof. Robert Sah. The objective was to develop and apply a new protocol to quantify, characterize, and localize articular cartilage damage and degeneration through India ink staining and digital volumetric imaging (DVI) of healthy and osteoarthritic human medial femoral condyle.
