Strong international law firm network, especially in Europe, China, Japan and the USA. Proven track record in building and operating AI-powered IP Intellligence systems. Global Chief IP Counsel of the BIOTRONIK group, directly reporting into the board. The globally-distributed IP team provides support to our CRM-, Electrophysiology and Neurostimulation business units as well as for other activities of the group. Our area of responsibility includes all patent- and trademark-related matters worldwide, including litigation, including the USA.
Serving as global Chief IP Counsel at Leica Biosystems (LBS), which is the global leader in the tissue-based cancer diagnostics field with more than 3,000 associates worldwide and annual sales of close to $1bn. We are the only vendor capable of offering the entire anatomic pathology workflow to our clients, with all necessary instruments and consumables - starting from tissue acquisition / biopsy, followed by tissue processing, primary H&E staining, advanced IHC and ISH staining, and finally digital imaging and automated image analysis. LBS partners with Pharma companies for the development of Companion Diagnostics (CDx) for targeted Oncology medicaments. The LBS IP team acts as a fully integrated business partner and is mastering a diverse set of technologies and competitive IP environments for protecting LBS' commercial activities as well as for securing new IP. The IP team members are globally distributed and co-located with the respective LBS Business Units, reflecting one of the greatest aspects about LBS - our truly global culture. We actively utilize DBS tools for aligning the team across its global spread and for tracking tasks. We are deeply integrated in the Danaher legal/IP function with closest ties to the Danaher Diagnostics platform legal/IP team.
