Wrote appellate briefs and presented oral arguments in the Court of Appeals of Virginia and Supreme Court of Virginia. Responded to petitions for writs of habeas corpus in state and federal courts and conducted evidentiary hearings defending the convictions.
Prosecuted misdemeanors and felonies, with an emphasis on narcotics and violent crime. Directed investigations and determined charges in fatal or otherwise serious vehicle crashes. Led a team of attorneys that handled complex DUI prosecutions. Wrote briefs in opposition to the Court of Appeals of Virginia.
Briefed Judge James A. Willett on a variety of motions and trial matters. Wrote letter opinions explaining decisions. Wrote, reviewed, and processed orders pertaining to civil and criminal matters, including motion hearings, pendente lite orders, divorces, and expungements.
Wrote briefs to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Wrote motions and responses for submission in the Eastern District of Virginia. Prepared Assistant U.S. Attorneys for trials through memoranda, research assignments, and strategy meetings.
Instructed college students on the fundamentals and advanced techniques of rugby. Led and managed large groups for practices, matches, and tournaments. Coordinated with two or three other coaches to effectively maintain group dynamics and safety.
