Over 22 years of Military Health Services management with diverse multidisciplinary teams within primary care clinics and deployable field hospitals both domestically and internationally. • Led the BC-wide military medical system during the peak of the COVID-19 response developing national best practices for dispersed virtual teams and virtual care. • Supported and led multiple infrastructure development and renovation projects domestically and internationally. • Extensive experience instructing Health Services Management and Coaching Health Services Professionals. • Experience with Health Care Leadership, Innovation, Accreditation, IT, Health Records, Support Services, Finance, Training, Infrastructure, project management.
• Responsible for coordinating current medical operations to NATO Forces within Northern Europe at the joint operational level.
• Commanding Officer of CF Health Services Centre Comox and CF Health Services Centre Pacific which were amalgamated into one unit covering all of BC (Hybrid team in Comox, Esquimalt, Victoria, Vancouver, Kamloops, Vernon). • Responsible for leading a blended clinical and administrative management team in delivering health services (primary care, diagnostics and therapeutic services, mental health, pharmacy, physiotherapy etc.) to CAF members throughout BC and to the RCN Pacific Fleet. • Provided strategic leadership to executive team including implementation of major change initiatives (Amalgamation, Virtual Care, COVID-19 vaccination) during one of the most complex times in recent memory. • Accountable for clinic performance, overall clinic operational effectiveness, management of multi-disciplinary staff (over 250 staff: unionized public servants, contractors, military), HR including personnel policies and evaluations, labour relations, quality improvement, patient safety and accreditation, compliance with national standards (non-clinical), employee occupational health and safety, strategic planning, performance measurement (Balanced Scorecard), business planning and finance), emergency response plan and exercises, risk management, contracts for external providers, infrastructure etc. • Worked collaboratively with the Physician Director of Clinical Programs and clinical team to successfully plan for and meet patient/client population and community health needs
• Responsible for the internal functioning of a deployable prehospital care system (ground / air ambulances) and deployable primary / emergency care clinic system. • Accountable to the Commanding Officer (CO) for locating and setting up the unit during deployments, unit finance, training, labour relations, business continuity/disaster planning, mentorship and professional development of junior personnel, assist in the investigation and resolution of incidents, acted as the CO during absences, etc.
