I am currently a student athlete here at Ashland University with a degree in biology, with minors in chemistry and finance. I plan to attend dental school for a DDM/DDS. I would like to open my own practice in Ohio and have worked a variety of jobs to build my experience in dental care and customer service. In addition to my work experiences, I am currently active on the NCAA Division II swim team, a member/mentor of the honors program here at Ashland, Vice President of the Pre-Dental club, and an undergraduate inorganic chemical researcher. I have presented at local to national conferences regarding my research in potential anti-cancer drug delivery systems through the use of metal-organic frameworks.
I work under the guidance of Dr. Nick Johnson, PhD, and his research group, working with a phosphazene-based core system to increase the efficacy of drug-delivery systems with potential cancer applications. My research with metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) aims to test and modify the drug-delivery system's innate potency using these porous MOF structures. I have presented at local conferences like the URCA symposium in Ashland, as well as national conferences like the American Chemical Society in Atlanta, GA.
