A) Saudi Arabia Government – Value $6.8 Billion B) Tajikistan Government – Value $3Billion A) Joint Venture, Senior Contract Manager. Riyadh Metro (ANM Joint Venture). Following the completion of my major remit in Tajikistan. I was requested that I move to a more senior position within the company and further requested that I accept to move to an existing project that was in need of a mature technically adept, Senior Contract and Commercial manager. Stepping in to lead the Contract/ Commercial Management team of the major joint venture platform of the Riyadh Metro. The major remit was to act as the liaison between the Saudi government, Riyadh Municipal government bodies, and the Contractors JV. To mediate between the parties with regards to legal and contractual obligations, variations, unknow conditions, interface packages, City government-imposed restrictions etc. Undertaking the process of packaging the partially agreed Mediation documentation into formal Dispute resolution packages ready for sign-off. In addition to picking up the existing 100 plus normal working claims for; extension of time, change orders etc. Both Claims and Mediation claims packages, a value of USD$ 1.6 billion. B) Senior Contract - Subcontract Manager. Rogun - Hydro Electric Dam, Tajikistan. Salini had previously issued over 27 subcontracts, varying in size and requirements. Webuild (Salini) requested me to amalgamate a number of the small / medium subcontracts under the umbrella of one major subcontractor. My remit included (but not limited to) preparation and implementation of a new $1Billion ‘Global’ Subcontract, complete with all associated scope of works, special conditions, risk mitigations, commercial evaluations, etc in conjunction with the Italian Contract and legal divisions (HQ Rome). The Subcontract is modified FIDIC Silver book with amendments to suit the Project, Scope, Country and where possible back-to-back risk and responsibility.
Schneider Electric expanded back into major EPC/LSTK projects. As part of this growth Schneider brought in a limited number of Senior Managers (myself included) specializing in FIDIC- EPC Contract and Construction programs. Placing me within the various projects (noted below) to reinforce & enhance the experience and capabilities of the existing teams at a Senior Site Managerial level. • Provided executive management consultative support. • Leading the management team’s execution of methodology changes. • Controlled inherited commercial stresses. • Managed the Implementation and standardization of Global Contract & Construction practices. • Ensured procurement, engineering, manpower & equipment were all integrated within scheduled systems. • Managed the supervision of civil construction, site erection works and reports regarding the compliance with the drawings and technical specifications of the project design. • Managed the Weekly client meetings, preparation of the Minutes of Meetings Documents. • Managed - Contracts Management (FIDIC), Cost Control, Financial Control. • Advised the Client and Contractor on SI/VO and design change impacts Project 3. Client; Saudi Aramco Project; Upgrade of Two (2) separate Gas Process Plants. LSTK - upgrade project for the, Central Control Buildings (2No.), Control cabinets Rack rooms north & south (4No.), Analyzer Houses (25No.) substations (4No.) PIB stations (4No.) Project 2. Qatar Client; QDVC Project; EPC, New Build – Rail Transit (including underground rail) 55 stations. Mechanical / construction installations, electrical power upgrade, conduit, racking, false flooring, steelworks, cabinets, PDB, tunnel ventilation systems etc. Project 1. Egypt Client; PetroBel (ENI) Project; Zohr Gas to Power Process project, E -Housing and Automation packages. Fabrication of structural steel & Mechanical fit-out of 60mtr long x 3.5mt wide x 5.5mt high, blast proof electrical and control housing.
Project 2. South Africa Client – Shell South Africa. Project; Major legislatively required upgrades and business driven capacity increases to Tank farms/ distribution terminals, brown field upgrades and rebuilds Responsible for; the coordination and delivery of the; Legal compliance, Contractual, Commercial, procurement, Construction, Safety and Engineering commissioning. Coordination Management of local Construction – Engineering – Contract team, the EPCM team and (nominated) Construction Company, internal & external international Stakeholder, terminal management teams. Terminal Upgrades, included; New build loading and distribution gantries, loading bridges. Brown field rebuilds, tank repairs and tank jacking. (4 x tanks jacked & in the air at the same time- combined with extensive civil works) pipework for distribution, valve and pump systems, power generation. Environmental clean-up of existing facilities in line with the ongoing works. Project 1. South Africa/Mozambique Client; BP Mozambique Project; Upgrades x 3 Tank farm distribution and loading facilities (including port delivery systems) in - Maputo, Beira, Nacala. Responsible for; Coordination Management between BP’s South African & Mozambique management, Local Construction – Engineering – Contract team. EPCM (South African Construction company) 3rd party Engineering company (South African) Local suppliers, Logistics of international materials, on-site construction, HSE, QA/QC, Environmental. Demolition of existing tank farm structures (holding tanks) environmental clean-up of 70year old sites, major civil infrastructure requirements, re-stabilisation of groundworks, new build of distribution tanks, demolition and rebuild of port to tank farm pipeline delivery and pump system. commissioning of the three terminals. Start of major decommissioning of a largest terminal near the capital.
