Enthusiastic, driven & creative Architect / Capital Prigramme Officer / Business Development Manager with 27 yrs post-qualification experience. I currently work for Bolton Council as a Capital Programme Officer managing annually approved schemes with a value of circa £120 M+. I previously worked for RGP Architects providing a range of services including Architectural & Business Development , Project Manager & Practice Management etc. I studied Architecture in Plymouth, for my Degree & Diploma until 1994. I first worked in housing for B. Newcombe Associates. I joined Archial Norr in 2001 as an Architect from Leach Rhodes Walker, where I worked on projects across sectors. With Archial I delivered projects from inception to completion, running projects&meeting clients face to face. I worked for Bradford Council for 5 years as a Architec / Project Manager / Design Manager. I advised on the design & procurement of their Estate of School Projects, Two with a value of circa £30M. I used my Architectural knowledge as a base on which to carry out this role,working with Council staff & managing teams of Framework consultants. I provided specialist technical support as the link between the Schools & the Council, advising how to design & procure their Estate of School Buildings.I was also involved with other Architectural Projects using Autocad. I have experience across most sectors of the construction profession including Residential, Education, Sport&Leisure, Transport, Industrial, Retail & Commercial projects. I have worked on a range of contracts including Traditional, Design & Build, Partnered Frameworks & Two-stage tendering.Schemes have included New Build and Refurbishment As a self-starter I have substantial experience in construction & encourage project team collaboration. I have experience from the briefing stage, am particularly enthusiastic about maintaining design ethos and have considerable knowledge of construction & building delivery. Management of the Programme of Capital Projects across a full range of project initiatives to deliver the Council's annually approved schemes with a value of circa £120M+. Working to deliver the Council's Strategic Asset Management Plan, incorporating the Corporate Landlord Model, I assist corporate clients to understand their requirements, support service expansion and asset improvements and manage a rolling programme of projects. I identify and appoint appropriate supply chain partners, consultants and contractors using approved procurement routes. I provide challenge in design meetings, maintain client expectations and ensure requirements are met within programme and budget. The services I offer include Architectural / Project Management /Business Development (including Bid and PQQ submissions etc) / Practice Management Services etc. using my strong existing relationships with 500+ of the UK's leading clients, contractors, developers and consultants across sectors. I gained new fee-paying work, by introducing to the practice my existing vast network of contacts and working with RGP’s existing and new clients in the UK. I have also achieved success by winning bids etc.. In my Business Development role, I have updated the practices marketing material including creating new-client specific PowerPoint presentations, brochures, publications, project data sheets, CV’s etc and managing all communication with new clients. I have also written monthly directors reports on my business development strategy and bid activities etc. and have organised events to promote the office.

Bradford Council: Employed in Architects Department as Architect/Project Manager/Design Manager/Client Representative with a track record of managing their Estate of School Buildings.I primarily managed the design and procurement of three Academy projects,2 with a value of circa £25M & the other a value of £12M.At the same time I managed up to 12 school projects, which included Ashlands, Crossley Hall,High Crags,Iqra,Princeville Southmere & Woodside Primary’s,with values from £2 to £10M,working with contractors including Wates,Bermar, ISG,Kier,R N Wooler,Torpoint,Willmott Dixon etc.I also managed project programme,costs and risk.I utilised my architectural knowledge to carry out this role, managing teams of Council staff and external Framework consultants including appointing,resourcing, supporting & motivating teams where required.I was also involved with other projects working as an Architect using AutoCAD.
